Formerly know as: Begonia Masoniana – Iron Cross
Interesting to note is that this plant fell under the name Begonia Masoniana (Iron Cross) until 2005 when it was renamed as a separate plant.
The “variegata” does cause some confusion. People think that there is a mutation and the plant is “Variegated”, however this plant does not have any mutations and simply goes down to the true meaning of “variegata” which mean colourful.

Lighting Needs:
Begonias thrive in medium light conditions; however, for optimal growth, position them in bright, indirect light. Steer clear of direct sunlight to prevent unsightly leaf burns.
Watering Tips:
Achieving even moisture is crucial. Scratch the top 2cm of soil for a quick check. Emphasize bottom watering, allowing the plant to absorb water efficiently. Remove excess water 24 hours later to maintain a delicate balance. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely to prevent leaves from turning crispy.

Maintain a medium humidity level, avoiding excessive leaf wetness to prevent fungal spots. Additionally, ensure proper air circulation, as free-flowing air is vital for their well-being.
