Monstera Adansonii care guide
Light Requirements:
Monster plants absolutely love bright light and well lit rooms. They can tolerate a bit of sun, but only after they have been acclimated to handle sun.
Watering needs:
Try and water these guys at least once a week, you can allow the soil to dry out ever so slightly on the top few cm’s before watering again.
Its they are in warmer room you find that they may dry out a lot quicker.
Humidity requirements:
They can tolerate normal humidity in the house, but they do prefer a little extra humidity, so they will appreciate a misting whenever you have a chance.
Fertilizing:
As with all plants, fertilizing is very important. These guys will enjoy being fertlized at least every two weeks with a general liquid fertlizer, or a water soluble fertilizer like Multi Booster.
Soil:
In time you will find that your Monster plant will start outgrowing it’s pot and you will need to upsize the pot and give him a fresh mix. They require a well draining soil mixture that has good moisture retention.
Try and only use a premium aroid mix which includes our Aroid mix additive and it’s always good practice to add in Perlite that will assist with good drainage, plus peat moss and coir husks that will hold in some moisture.
Nice to know:
Monster plants are mildly toxic to animals and small children.
