Mycoroot Supreme
Mycoroot Supreme contains Arbuscular Mycorrhizal fungi – so what are they?
Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi are intimately associated with the roots of most flowering plants, herbs, vegetables and agricultural crops. Mycoroot ™ products contain selected combinations of indigenous AM fungi suited for all your plant production needs.
How do AM fungi benefit plants?
AM fungi form a symbiotic relationship with the plants providing them with nutrients from the soil through better exploitation of the soil environment. Mycoroot treated plants are stronger, healthier and more tolerant to stress conditions than plants with poor colonisation. The benefits of using AM fungi are summarised as follows:
1. Increase tolerance to drought stress
2. Improve root development
3. Increase uptake of nutrients and water
4. Improve plant fitness and health
5. Suppress weedy non-mycorrhizal plants
6. Increase soil microbial biodiversity
7. Improve soil aggregation and aeration
8. Reduce transplant failure
9. Optimise productivity
How do I use Mycoroot ™ ?
Transplanting seedlings and plants in the garden or re-potting plants: apply a level teaspoon (5ml) of Mycoroot Supreme at the bottom of the planting hole, below the roots.
For growing seedlings: mix one level teaspoon (5ml) for every 5-10 seeds into the seedling mixture. Enquire about Mycoroot ™ Supreme for garden use and Mycoroot ™ Green for lawns and turfgrass.
Fertilizing and Pesticides
Prevent over fertilising and non-discriminate use of pesticides. Consult with Mycoroot ™ for compatibility with fungicides and to determine whether your plants will benefit with Mycoroot Supreme.
Mycoroot Supreme products have been developed using South African isolates of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal fungi.
These are naturally occurring soil microorganisms, which have not been genetically altered in any way. The product is indigenous, environmentally-friendly and produced in an inert carrier.
