Botanical name: Ficus microcarpa ‘Moclame’
Ficus Moclame is one of the neater, more compact members of the Ficus family.
Its small glossy leaves grow densely along the branches, giving the plant a full, rounded appearance without needing the large leaf size of a Fiddle Leaf Fig or the broader spread of some other Ficus varieties.
This bush form works particularly well on plant stands, side tables, reception counters or anywhere you want a compact indoor tree with plenty of foliage.
Like most Ficus, the biggest factor in keeping it looking good is light. Give it as much bright natural light as possible rather than placing it deep inside a room. A position close to a large window is ideal.
Ficus can also cope with some direct sun once they have acclimatised gradually. In fact, stronger light generally helps the plant maintain denser growth and better leaf retention.

Give it loads of natural light. Close to a large window is ideal, and don’t be scared of a little direct sun once the plant has acclimatised.

Pests – What should I keep an eye out for?
Spider mites, scale and mealybugs are the main ones I’d watch for.
Get into the habit of looking underneath the leaves and inside the dense foliage rather than only admiring it from the top. Regularly hosing the plant also makes a massive difference here.
Temperature – What temperatures does Ficus Moclame prefer?
Normal warm household temperatures suit it perfectly. Keep it away from very cold drafts and sudden temperature changes during winter.
