Commonly known as: Controlled Release Fertilizer
A premium 6 month controlled release fertiliser in easy-to-use green prills, designed to release nutrients slowly and evenly. Perfect for indoor plants, outdoor containers, and mixed potting blends.
Controlled Release Fertilizer details
What makes controlled release fertilizer different?
Controlled release means each prill releases nutrients gradually, preventing burn and ensuring consistent growth through the entire season. You feed once, and the fertiliser handles the rest.
What nutrients does it contain?
A complete NPK profile plus essential trace elements* based on the industry-standard 16-8-12 formulation:
-
Nitrogen (16%) for leaf growth and lush colour
-
Phosphorus (8%) for roots and new shoots
-
Potassium (12%) for strength, resilience, and water regulation
-
Magnesium (2%) for photosynthesis
-
Sulphur (5%) for enzyme function
-
Plus boron, copper, iron (EDTA-stabilised), manganese, molybdenum, and zinc
How to use it in potting mixes
Mix directly into potting soil before planting.
Use only what you need for immediate use, as the coating begins reacting once exposed to moisture.
Suggested rates (general indoor plants):
Small pots (12–14 cm): 1–2 teaspoons
Medium pots (16–20 cm): 2–4 teaspoons
Large pots (23–30 cm): 4–6 teaspoons
For very sensitive species, reduce slightly. For heavy feeders (Monsteras, Philodendrons, Palms), increase slightly.
Top-dressing established plants
Sprinkle the prills evenly onto the soil surface and water in. Keep the prills on top of the soil — do not bury them deep, as they need airflow to release nutrients evenly.
How long does it last?
Up to 6 months under normal indoor temperatures (±21 °C).
Heat speeds up release slightly; cooler weather slows it down.
Safe and Reliable
Fully coated for controlled release
Low salt index
Chloride-poor formulation
Suitable for indoor plants, patio containers, and landscape plants
Helps prevent nutrient lock-up in soil mixes
Storage
Store sealed, dry, and out of direct sunlight.
Once opened, use as soon as possible.
Avoid freezing or extremely hot temperatures.
FAQ’s
Q: Will it burn my plants?
No — the polymer coating prevents nutrient spikes, making it very safe when used at the correct rates.
Q: Can I use this with indoor plants?
Yes, absolutely. It’s ideal for houseplants because it releases gently and consistently.
Q: Can I mix it with Organic Fertiliser?
Yes — many growers use both. Organic feeds build soil biology, while controlled release provides stable, predictable nutrition.
Q: Do I need to reapply often?
Only every 6 months. After that, simply top-dress again.
Q: Does it work in winter?
Yes, but nutrients release more slowly in cooler conditions, which aligns with plant growth naturally slowing down.
