Tradescantia Nanouk care guide

Light
Place your Tradescantia in bright, indirect light for optimal growth. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, but prolonged exposure may lead to leaf burn. Consider a spot near a window with filtered sunlight.

Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. Adjust the frequency based on the humidity levels in your home. During the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, and reduce watering in the dormant period

Soil
Use a well-draining, lightweight potting mix. A mix designed for indoor tropical plants or a combination of potting soil, perlite, and orchid mix works well. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.

Fertilizing
Feed your Tradescanthia Nanouk with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer like MultiBooster diluted to half strength every 2-3 weeks during the growing season. Avoid fertilizing during the dormant period.

Pruning
Trim back leggy or straggly growth to encourage bushiness. Pinch the tips regularly to promote lateral growth. Remove any yellow or damaged leaves to maintain the plant’s overall health and appearance.

Repotting
Repot your Tradescanthia Nanouk every 1-2 years, or when you notice it outgrowing its current container. Spring is an ideal time for repotting. Ensure the new pot has drainage holes, and refresh the soil.
