Commonly known as: XL Peace Lily Sensation
Botanical name: Spathiphyllum Sensation
XL Peace Lily Sensation is built for scale. The oversized leaves, deep ribbing and dense growth give it a presence that smaller peace lilies simply cannot match. At around 90cm tall in a 30cm pot, it already fills a space properly rather than needing time to grow into it.
The foliage is what defines this plant. Each leaf is broad, heavily textured and rich green, creating a layered canopy that feels substantial and grounded. With multiple plants in one pot, the overall shape is full and balanced, which gives it a strong, almost sculptural quality.
This is not a filler plant. It anchors a room. Whether placed in a living area, office or entrance space, it immediately draws attention without relying on flowers. When it does bloom, the large white spathes sit above the foliage and add another layer of contrast.
Despite its size, it remains easy to manage. It adapts well to indoor conditions and gives clear signals when it needs water. With consistent care and stable placement, XL Peace Lily Sensation holds its structure and continues to produce new leaves from the base, gradually becoming even fuller over time.
XL Peace Lily Sensation Care Guide
Watering – How often should it be watered?
Water when the top 3–5cm of soil has dried out. Peace Lilies prefer evenly moist soil; however, they dislike sitting in water. Therefore, always allow excess water to drain freely.
Light – What light does an XL Peace Lily need?
Bright, indirect light works best because it supports healthy growth and flowering. However, Peace Lilies tolerate medium light well. In lower light, flowering may slow, and therefore brighter placement improves results.
Humidity – Does it need extra humidity?
Average to slightly higher indoor humidity suits Peace Lilies well. While they tolerate normal home conditions, increased humidity can support leaf quality. As a result, bathrooms or grouped plant settings often work well.
Soil – What soil works best?
Use a free-draining yet moisture-retentive mix. Indoor Potting Soil provides a good base. In addition, add Perlite and incorporate Bark Chips lightly to improve structure and airflow.
Feeding – How should it be fertilised?
Feed during spring and summer with Grobest Organic Fertiliser every 4–6 weeks. If stronger growth or flowering support is needed, Novatec Soluble Fertiliser can be used occasionally at a reduced strength. As a result, foliage and blooms often improve.
Repotting – When should it be repotted?
Repot every 18–24 months, or once roots become crowded. Move up one pot size only. At repotting time, incorporate TerraPlus Natura N and Controlled Release Fertiliser into the fresh mix to support long-term nutrition.
Pests – What pests should I watch for?
Inspect leaves regularly for aphids, spider mites, and mealybugs. Because early detection matters, regular checks help prevent larger infestations. If needed, treat promptly with an insecticidal spray.
Temperature – What temperature suits it best?
Peace Lily ‘Chopin’ grows best between 18°C and 27°C. However, temperatures below 12°C can cause stress. Therefore, protect the plant from cold drafts.
